I can find plenty of info and pics of Washburn A mando M1S but nothing in the M1SV. Are they the same price/specs other than the finish? Any help appreciated. Thx

Hey Bubby, I can't see anything on it with a search, so I can only offer my opinion. For more than that, you should contact the Washburn folk.
M1S is an A style mandolin. The "S" would indicate a solid spruce top. Their specs say that you have a carved top, but do not indicate hand carved. Maple back and sides, which could well be maple laminate (very thin maple plywood), otherwise they'd generally make a big deal about "solid" maple back and sides. Often, this Washburn outfit will use SWK to indicate solid wood everywhere.
As to the M1SV, I assume that is what you have posted in the pic ... it would be same specs, but the V would indicate "Vintage" referring to the finish. You will see some distressing in the brown finish topped with a satin topcoat. Otherwise, the plain M1S comes with a glossy sunburst.
No idea as to whether they charged a different price for the distressed finish; I doubt it.
