Default Any recommendation on octave pedal to simulate a bass guitar?

Thinking of getting one for the duo I play in, to occasionally add a bass line to a song instead of mandolin riffs. Am in a rural area so hard to get where I can test different pedals, and not sure how well this idea would work. Anyone out there tried this and have recommendations? I assume I need a 2 octave shift, or more??

The Electro Harmonix Micro POG tracks really well, but it's only one octave either way.

The bigger models might go two octaves (I haven't tried 'em so I don't know, but I haven't tried running a Micro POG into another Micro POG either).

The POG2 does two- and one-octave down, and several above. It also has an excellent slow attack effect which allows emulating a bowed sound.

The Electro Harmonix Nano POG is excellent. I use with a regular 8 string acoustic mandolin and it works wonderfully. I also used an Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork. While the Pitch Fork has way more options than the POG, it doesn't track as well.

I’d get one of the many ukulele like bass instruments out there. I’ve not heard an octave shifter that sounded even half good to me.

Not an octave pedal but sounds pretty good.

Exclamation More than just a Pedal...

Get bridge divided pickup, and a 13 pin output* to a Roland guitar synth, and the synth should offer a bass patch. with good sound ..

    * have used RMC pickups, an 8 pin connector cable> to their Poly drive 2 box >, 13 pin out from that box.
to the Roland pedal board synth.

which has 2 line level outputs to a mixer channel ...

U Bass so much simpler.. but the synth has a lot more sounds than just bass..
