Default Gigbag for 19 Inch Telecaster Tenor

    Hi,

I recently got the tenor guitar (octave mandolin?) pictured below.

It came without a case, so I’m looking to get a decent gig bag for storing it when not in use. Any suggestions on what to use?

I suppose it’s a bit of an oddball size, being a 19 inch scale. It’s total length is 29 inches, with the lower bout just under 10 inches and the upper bout 8.5 inches.

I’d be happy with case or gig bag, but always think gigbags are a bit more flexible in sizing terms. I did a bit of research and thought going down the baritone ukulele route might be best. I looked at a Clearwater baritone gigbag online, that might do the job. The trouble is that if you don’t have one in hand it’s hard to tell. They look to be OK in terms of length and lower bout, but upper bout might be a problem.

Any suggestion from teleowners of a similar size on what to use? Prefer to buy in UK if possible.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Regards,

The Fender gig bag that comes with their Tenor Tele is protective, well made and looks good. It might behoove you to check it out.

If you can find one of these (they're not common), it's a great fit for my Zither tenor guitar, which has the same overall dimensions as your guitar. Really generous padding, good quality, zipper never catches. I have one for my Airline mandola as well - both leave a little extra room at the head (it's about 32 inches total interior length) but are otherwise snug.

Taylor “Baby Taylor” bag works pretty well for my Eastwood. Good, sturdy construction and any Taylor guitar dealer can sell you one.

Can you tell us a bit more about that tenor, Ian?
