Default What's the right tailpiece and finish?

    Hey!

I'm ordering parts for an old Gibson Junior oval A and am thinking of getting a tailpiece that says Gibson on it: Prucha tailpiece

    - Would that be pretty much like what was on the mando originally?

    - Are there brands of tailpieces to seek out or avoid?

    - And what finish would the original tailpiece have had? Brass? Nickel?

    Thanks!

No! They never had standard Gibson tailpieces originally. They had clamshell/scalloped and never said Gibson either AFAIK. Like this one:

You can browse through all the photos of A-Juniors in the archive at this link. Of course, if you don't care about originality then go for whatever you like that works.

Oh! Glad I asked. It looks great, too. That's what I'll get.

UPDATE: Found one and ordered it. Thanks!
