Just ordered a New Kentucky KM500 it comes with a Kentucky Gigbag.
I would like to buy a reasonably priced hard case for my new KM500. What is a good case for a Kentucky KM50?...one that fits properly.

This is a good case for the money. It will defend against the normal bumps a gig bag won't. I would classify it as a good "in hand " hard case. Arch top cases are stronger but three time as expensive. Fiberglass cases aren't a great deal stroner until you get into cases that cost more than your mandolin. Enjoy and play on! R/

My Kentucky KM-270 lives in this one:

I think it's a great case for the money. Has a nice solid feel and a bit of a unique look. You can't tell from the photo, but the top has a slight arch to it.

A Travelight is a good balance between protection and weight and cost.

Dunno if it's just me, but no matter what link I select on that "Musicians Friend" site, I always end up at this item:
    HEDD Type 05 Studio Monitor, 5 1/2" woofer, 2x50W.

    Something is very odd there.

+1 on the Travelite. Great protection, generous storage pocket inside, and the bakstrap packs are helpful "for the long haul" at festivals or gigs.

I found that a Travelite worked great for my KM500 with tone guard and arm rest. It's great for most purposes, but if you're going to be travelling with it other than by auto, I'd get something like a Superior case or other fiberglass/hard case. A Travelite isn't sturdy enough for travel by common carrier.

Look up suggested cases on the Saga Instrument website.

BTW- my case I got with my Kentucky km 172 is an arch top case by Guardian. Works great! Good luck and play on!
