Here is the comparison between my Broadway mandolin with leg cutaway and the one without. It's probably not a true test as I used slightly different woods. My rationale is that the leg cutaway steals valuable real estate from the soundboard and from the inside the body. The internal capacity of mandolins made in this manner is smaller than conventional to start with.
