    Default Finally Completed!

I finally finished my 1st guitar, definitely a big learning process. I started it end of March, and finished Jan. 18th. It has a cedar top, sapele back and sides, spanish cedar neck, and maple binding. I’m satisfied on how it plays other than the action is a bit high.

Lovely! I would imagine it's got dulcet tones. You should be proud.

Oh yes! And I suppose not many 17 years olds get the privilege to build one either.

Wow, if that is your first guitar at age 17, I can't wait to see what you do next!

Welcome to the world of getting the neck angle right, something I've screwed up more times than I care to admit to over the years. Congratulations on finishing it.

Nice job! I love the maple binding, that’s a really nice touch! Just curious as to what material you used for the nut and saddle. And I can’t really make out your headstock design, I’d like to see a pic of that if you don’t mind. Thanks and congrats!

Sure, I don’t mind. My sad attempt to do inlay, it’s recon stone. I think one of the prettiest part of the guitar is the fretboard. The nut and saddle are black buffalo horn.
My sister wants me to build her a guitar next, and after that maybe tackle a mandolin.

Thanks for the additional info. There’s nothing sad about it to my eyes. I look forward to seeing your future builds!
