Sorry this probably would have been better to put in the "song and tune projects".

Frank Sullivan put Ricky Don’t Lose That Number on his last album
I think 'Any Major Dude' would sound great arranged for mando.
Maybe 'Bodhisattva' as well, but you'd have to have some speed to keep up with the solos from Dias and Baxter
"Keep your hat on, we may end up miles from here..." - Kurt Vonnegut
I've done "Josie" for years, singing with mandolin accompaniment...
But here's the thing: I never think about what songs "sound cool" on mando. I just play them, usually by ear. That means I'm free to hear the piano and guitar parts and figure out the chords, sometimes sounding them out one note at a time by singing each pitch and then finding it on mando. Sometimes i have to distill them down to only the essential tones.
I also remember figuring out "Kid Charlemange," with hammer-ons to get that piano figure. It's nothing I would have attempted if there wasn't already a roadmap for how it sounds in the recording. That's the best part of grabbing non-mandolinistic music to learn on mando, the chance to push outside one's comfort zone.
Whatever you decide to pursue, good luck!
