No pictures from Eastman booth but we did stop by and take a few toward the end of the day. Have a meeting with them tomorrow at which time we'll get some more pictures. They have a gorgeous El Rey mandolin there, I'd forgotten how cool these are in person to have in hand.

Love that Weber Octave Exotic Kona A with that figured Koa wood - that is a good-looking instrument!

Thanks for posting these new Webers. I sure am diggin' the looks of these. Do they sound and play as good as they look?

On this one, is that a small knot I see between the G strings and the top of the f hole? Not a negative comment, just a question. I would actually prefer to see wood with these types of features in it making it into the instruments from the big guys. I think that would give license to the smaller builders to use tops or backs we sometimes read about here ( you know. . .should I use it, cover it up, or toss it). Always seems a shame to me that they have to 'do' something about a natural feature in the wood. Again, love the looks of this one and the great pictures Scott is posting for us. Thanks!

I am not normally a flowerpot fan but this's really does it for me. It is simple and tasteful, yet looks convincingly three-dimensional. As I said in the other post, I am really digging these new Webers. Love the original Webers, loving these new ones, too. No reason not to love both generations of the Weber brand.

That is what the face looks like and how nature crafted that particular piece of wood. Some people think Cindy Crawford's beauty mark makes her more attractive. I happen to be one of those. Others may disagree.

To our esteemed Admin and family, and anyone else from here at the Cafe' that is reporting from NAMM this year, I'm sending my sincere gratitude. You're allowing me and my family to enjoy notable highlights of the show from the comfort -- and especially from the quiet -- of our living room. We were on the verge of going, passes all but arranged, but we looked at each other just said, "lets not".

Thank you for the great reporting, pics and news so far, and to come! Please, remember to use your hearing protection!

Leland Skar has a hobby: photographing famous people sticking a middle finger out at the photographer. I believe he would appreciate being photographed doing the same.

Not doing so much picture taking at the moment. Just met Alex Heflin who came up from LA on the Mandolin Cafe's NAMM pass. Great to meet him so introduced him to the Eastman group and as many of you remember he did a video evaluation of the El Rey. Dropped him off at Collings as he's a long time Collings owner and was interested in meeting them. Great guy!

Waiting for "the big meeting" that comes with major announcement and pix but it got moved back at least an hour, so 2:00 p.m. Anaheim time.

My daughter took this picture I put on social media a few minutes ago. Kind of a sweet moment I thought. This is long time Saga/Kentucky Mandolin employee Bryan Uhlenbrock on right showing an attendees some simple mandolin chords.

I'm not at the show this year so one of the Cafe members will have to investigate and report back.
