    Model No. 1DC MANDOLIN
(The word 'mandolin' appears as part of the model number).

It is a 1994 version with a matte (non-glossy) dark chocolate finish and adjustable truss-rod. I've had it since new, with matching hard shell case. The instrument has travelled around quite a lot with me, it's still one of my favourites, very playable and nice tone.
It's a Bozeman Flatiron pancake, and probably in the same price range as the 1N. It's novel, but I've read some assertions, with no evidence from actual Flatiron personnel, that the darker finishes were because the wood wasn't as pretty. Still, my Flatiron Scout mandola from that same period, finished in either dark cherry or chocolate (take your pick of names), is my favorite of my three Flatiron mandolas.

I'm pretty sure that many white face, black top, and early sunburst Gibson's had some of the same issues.

I'd think pricing much over $500 a bit aggressive. It's a post-Gibson, truss-rod pancake. The color option is cool; however.

I'd liken the $700 price point to those that are pre-Gibson and those with the original hard-shell case. Bonus points in these pre-Gibson mandolins if it's in the 5-latch case!

The GHS A250 mandolin strings are a perfect match to the factory-specified string gauges. It's so annoying to get one of these handed to me and find the neck all gacked up 'cause somebody sold them on J74s! Just don't do it!

    I love these mandolins!

I think the asked question has been answered. We limit commerce to the classifieds. Thanks all for your help.
