Practicing with Headphones on an Electric Mandolin

Hey All!
I'm getting a Eastwood Mandocaster and would like to get a headphone amp to use for practice. I've been looking at the Vox Headphone Amps and am very confused by all the different versions. Does anyone use a Vox? If so, what version do you use? Or...does anyone use some other configuration for practice with headphones?

I use a Zoom G1 multi effect job. To me, it's an excellent solution, not to mention cheap.

I do own and use when necessary the Vox built-in-to-the-headphones-themselves headphone amp, but it's my last resort, given my other available options (Amplitude on my laptop, and an Avid 11R rack onstage).

Do you need a headphone amp? I primarily play my electric unplugged and find it great for quiet practice.

I have AmpliTube app on my iPhone and iPad. Along with the plug in adapter that links the two. I have previously used a Zoom multi effects pedal which works well but it is big by comparison. I have also used my Vox VT 40 amp with headphones in.
To be honest the nearest I get to the tone from my Epiphone valve junior is with the phone app.
