Default All I want for [insert seasonal holiday of your choice] is . . .

A competent recording of Calace's op.150 to (1) exist and (2) appear in my personal library.

. . . and for Chad to finally finish building that Neapolitan mandolin I commissioned too long ago.

    Feel free to follow suit.

For Cremonese/Brescian mandolins (or any nylon-strung mandos) to come back into fashion since I'm loving the sound and feel of the one I'm building, and my domra which is strung the same.

Or if it has to be a physical thing, I'd quite like an 1890's one myself to play and take measurements from.

For Xmas, I'd like a copy of Homer & Jethro's "Playing It Straight." I know it's not classical but it kinda is for me. For Festivus, I wouldn't mind learning to play on Mandolin "Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, Prélude" by Johnny Seb.

P.S. Here's an Xmas orneryment made by the OP sometime during the last century.

Play that which you feel is groovy, get down with your bad self, and shake your money maker if it makes sense for you to do so.

My 1896 Milanese/Lombard mandolino by Serafino Casini, Firenze. These are old photos from the original listing and it has been restored and strung since:

My 1890s toscano/bresciano by Carlo Bavassano & Figlio, Napoli. I have it strung in Nylgut for tuning to A = 430 here:

Credit where due: Mrs. Eugene tied the fly. I just suspended the fly from a bit of ribbon within a glass ball.
