Not anymore - she met some banjo player and then died of boredom.

They're not actually that big, just feels that way when you've had a few.

Hopefully someone that has the chops and desire to play in this band is contacting the OP. There are two other postings for this opportunity out there as well.

A few years ago my friend got signed to a major label rock band with gigs, international touring, etc., and did it for several years. The label asked him before signing what his day job was and how much it paid. He was busing tables and made $800 a month. Their response, "how would you like to make $800 a month playing in a touring rock band?"

    He signed.

(the story works better if you are 20 years old and single...)

Well Jeff, in my career as a professional musician I've made hundreds of dollars. I get it.

On the upside, you get to travel on somebody else's dime, which can be educational. You get a crash course in the psychology of 4-5 people spending most of 24 hours a day in a van -- these skills may assist you later in life with various forms of negotiating.....both in business, music, and relationships. You learn to budget life on a tiny per diem -- if you are doing well enough to receive a per diem. You will make friendships you will keep the rest of your life. Most importantly, you are pursuing a dream that is best chased while you are young enough to still be able to dream.

And, if the dream doesn't work out, you can say (to yourself) you tried. My father's sage advice to me -- "well, you can always come home and get a job!"
