Hoping to record a new song today, still working on the arrangement and trying to figure out what instruments to use... but I have it down to these four, and a combination will be used for sure.

Eastman Parlor guitar, Breedlove Crossover FF mando, Pono octave mando and Deering Goodtime tenor banjo... now the fun begins!

Probably not the first to mention this, but the upper horn on the Breedlove looks a lot like Pacman! -- not a bad thing!

Ha ha ha, right? Frankly, the neck profile is what sold me on this mando. No more tendinitis is a blessing!

It's great to have an arsenal of stuff to choose from when you go into the studio because you never know what is going to fit the song just right, and what is not. There have been LOTS of times when I was absolutely sure that the sound of one instrument or another was going to be perfect when I went into the studio, only to realize that it was a complete failure - and I was SO glad to have something else nearby to save me.

Enjoy and be sure to post some audio when you are done!

Agreed! I posted the song that resulted in the appropriate forum. Had me a blast.

I once had an electric sitar in my "arsenal".....trouble is, it kept finding its way onto recordings!
