    Default The cafe....made my day!

Had a long, crappy day at work yesterday. Wasn't a great day to say the least.

I get home as usual, get cleaned up, eat some dinner and then sit down to check what's been going on in the forum. A quick check of my email and I see this message:

.Congratulations, you were one of the five winning entries in our Mandolin Cafe ball cap giveaway. If you'll reply back with your full name, mailing address, city/state/Zip we'll get these on their way to you.

    Scott
Just wanted to say thanks the the cafe. This is freaking awesome! I know, it's not the lottery but it kinda is to me being the guy that doesn't win things....lol.

    Thanks Scott!

I too initially won one of the hats - but then somebody on the Cafe' staff heard my mandolin playing and quickly decided to rescind my winnings . . . .

    Easy come, easy go.

    Congrats Scott!

Wait until you retire and can do it several times a day. Just sayin'
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

Long before the cafe I used to subscribe to the Mandolin World News. It was a little magazine printed on several 8.5 X 11 colored sheets stapled in the middle, but it was a life line.

But for MWN there was precious little mandolinfo to be had anywhere, and I must have read every issue two or three times. The day it came in the mail was an automatic diner day, and I would make an evening in the diner hanging on every page.

The cafe serves that purpose today. Recently there are mandolin related Facebook groups, but they are more an amusement. A distraction.

The only competition the Mandolin Cafe has is turning off the computer and playing mandolin.

    The entire staff
    funny....
