Default Y'all missed some great mandolin playing in Asheville

These two really played their hearts out last night. They played some Nude Goats - oops I mean Good Notes - all night long. Don and Frank - I'd drive 200+ miles to see these guys anytime!

Donnie Stiernberg is the playa on the right.

Frank Solivan (left - leads Dirty Kitchen) and Don Stiernberg (right - leads the Don Stiernberg Group) as an incredible duo. They burned up the frets! A great mix of traditional, Bluegrass (sans banjo or guitar), jazz/swing, and pop tunes. Well worth driving half-way across North Carolina to see/hear.

Man, I would LOVE to make it to one of their gigs - sadly, none even remotely near us. Maybe next time. From what I'm hearing about these shows, seems like this may not wind up being a one-off tour.
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

Would have loved to be there but too many schedule conflicts this weekend to make it work

In case Frank and/or Don are reading, I'd drive a couple hundred miles for that show, so somewhere between DC & Philly would be great if they want to extend that tour... Don is tops on my list of amazing mandolin players I've yet to see live.
