One of the best bluegrass mandolinists ever,,this is a photo I took of Dean Webb playing his 3 point F4,,from the Andy Griffith show (S4,E25), "Divorce,mountain style"..

Bill Graham did a nice feature article on Dean in 2012. Got to meet the man myself and hear the band he was playing in at the time. He was still a brilliant player and this was just a few years before he passed. One of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.

Not sure but looks like Webb is holding his pick backwards ala Reischman? Unique grip. Wears mandolin high. Ergo the headstock strap.

Said his "favorite" mandolin was a 27 Fern. He sold it. Dang.
