Picked up a clean, well-preserved A model Flatiron, 1984 Carlson signed. It's the 2nd Flatiron I've owned, first was a 1985 F-5 Artist, also Carlson. Came with the original warranty card, imagine that. Thing has good tone and is a joy to play.

The last one I bought had the original warranty card as well. It must have been a thing with these early Flatirons. Nice mandolin.

That looks lovely! I Hope you'll record with it so we can hear it
Looks great congrats! I'd also love to hear it!
Mandolin: Kentucky KM150
Other instruments: way too many, and yet, not nearly enough.

What is the serial number on that beauty? Enjoy!
I bought mine in '83 or so. One of the first two carved models that Mandolin Brothers got in. I probably sent in my warranty card. I still play it and love the tone especially for that bright bluegrassy sound.

That looks awesome! Congrats.
I think my 84 A5 had the best tone of any mandolin I've owned.
I sold mine because I wanted a different neck profile.
I won't part with my Carlson Flatiron.
Congrats and enjoy.

Nice! I've always liked those early Flatirons.
