Thread: Chord drones?

    Default Chord drones?

I am looking for a way to play a continuous chord sound on the computer or by phone app so I can practice fiddle solo's. Meaning a continuous E minor (or any other chord) being voiced for 10 minutes or so to play over. Anyone have any recommendations? I can not seem to find anything. Thanks for any help

The tuner/metronome app "Tunable" lets you sustain multiple notes so you can make any chord/cluster you like. The actual sound is not that pretty though.

I ran across these a few years back. https://www.worshiptutorials.com/product/pads/ I don't know of anyone who uses them, but it's an intriguing idea for a solo artist, and should do the trick.

For practicing solos, I use a copy of Band in a Box and just program in the chord progression, and then loop it.

You could also see if there are Jam Tracks available on YouTube with the chords you are looking for.

I think there may be some things on YouTube but I’d say why not record yourself then loop it? Loopy is a good app, iRealpro is a good suggestion, I’m sure there are others even get yourself a loop pedal but then you need a pickup or mic...
