Default Is this a refinished top?

Was just looking this morning and saw this Kentucky KM1500. Looks like a natural or possibly white finished top with sunburst back and sides. Strange.

Looking around the scroll and 2 points makes me wonder if this was a strip and refinish job? Or was this factory issue? Looks odd if it's factory. But I'm definitely not an expert on these instruments.

    NFI in this one.

If not a stripped top and refin, then a re-topped mandolin.

    "Is this a refinished top?" . . . I would say yes.

If you magnify the closeup of the scroll/fingerboard picture on the musicgoround link, you can see remnants of the original finish and other inconsistencies.

Anyway, I don't think even a sales sample or prototype would have been made with a gloss sunburst back and a clear or translucent satin top.
