If it's one of those Vietnamese instruments, be careful: some of them have inlays that fall out, metal parts that fail, and under-dried wood that can split. Apparently there's a "cottage industry" of independent craftspeople in Vietnam that build these on a collaborative basis, for international internet sales, mainly through Taiwan. As Tom Paxton wrote"
