Folks, have been playing now for a bit over 4 years, with a modest level of improvement. Played for the best part of this time on an Eastman 505 and love the instrument. I developed substantial calluses, hard as can be. This past Summer I bought a beautiful 514, fell head over heels with the tone and sustain. Took it to a local Luther and after a complete set up, fret leveling, and such. I now know what is meant by action like butter. It plays like a dream. Now after months of playing, it seems that my finger tips are not nearly as hard but can play for several hours painlessly. Picking up the old 505 and what I thought was a good set up is hardly so. Anyone else had this experience after a truly great set up? Thanks
