Thread: Traditional Bridge w/ piezo

    Default Traditional Bridge w/ piezo

Does anyone here build their own traditional style adjustable bridge and incorporate a piezo pickup? This would be a Gibson style bridge.

I get into this tedious type of experimenting but have yet to try to encapsulate a piezo into a traditional style bridge.

    Just fishing for ideas.

Fishman will sell you one with a piezo in the saddle or the bridge foot. They don't sound as good as one on/under the top. IMHO

But one could be just the ticket for use with a Tonedexter. But if you aren’t going that route, bridge piezos tend toward brittle tone.

Fishman uses a really cheap Chinese bridge for theirs. I actually retrofitted one of their saddles to a Cumberland base before.
