Geib Challenge case
When I got the 1935 Kalamazoo recently, it had this case. Not sure if it's original to the instrument or not, but it definitely seems period correct. Have maybe seen this pattern before, but it's definitely not like the fake alligator one usually sees on these. Plus, the clasps are not marked. The stamped logo on the bottom and the raised diamond inside confirm it is a Geib. Oh, and the interior is much more purple than shown in the photos.

Yes. No idea what it stands for. But it's probably been on there enough that removing it would be too risky for the case.Originally Posted by Jeff Mando

The case is an original from that era but looks more like the 50's outside pattern I've seen? Inside looks 30's, but yeah different outside, I don't think I've ever had one like that. Love the pattern. The sticker may would come off with some work? A little soap/water-goo be gone? Steve is the case man so, maybe he'll chime in. He's very knowledgeable with any case from any era! I'vee thought about joining facebook just so I can get access to his case page!

I once found a 1958 Gretsch Duo-Jet with original case at a pawn shop. All original, but sometime in the 60's somebody put a bunch of huge "flower power" stickers on it, but I was afraid to try and remove them. Totally blew my rockabilly theme............

Amazing case. Looks brand new. Nice crisp trademark stamp with G&S Co. The company name changed to Geib, Inc. in 1937, so this case is earlier. Fits a 1935 date perfectly. Geib was making colored cases like this in that era.
