Default Trying to get a mandolin sent from a shop in Napoli/Naples, Italy

    Hi folks,
I tried to buy a B-Stock mandolin from a shop named D'Isanto Musica in Naples, Italy. I have problems as they don't reply to my e-mails any longer. They got problems with the Italian Customs and the instrument was returned to their shop. They promised to tell me the problem, but after I changed my mind about the purchase a couple of times, they do not answer my e-mails any longer. It was a new bowl back mandolin with a hard case. Does anyone know somebody in Naples? Do you have any advice. I don't speak Italian.

Did you lose money in the transaction? If not, you may just let it go. If you did lose money then that is another story.

You can buy directly from Calace and a few folks have also bout from Musikalia who, it sounds, have improved the quality of their instruments.

Assuming they had to find a translator on at least two purchase/no-purchase reversals, at how many changes of mind do you think it would be reasonable for them to stop engaging?

My advice is to go with another seller, and to not reverse yourself once you and the seller are moving forward. If there's a bump in the road, you can reconsider then, but make a firm decision at that point and stick to it.

    The mandolino type? Money?
I’ve no idea either way about the transaction itself, but having lived with foreign language speaking people, and foreign people before, I’d say benevolence is a key word.
If you have differences then it’s often just misunderstandings with the language and culture. Keep going.

(One example of this is a woman who walks into a supermarket and eats a cake, but has no money to pay for it, in fact she half starved. In France she gets told get out!, and to never come to the shop again, in other countries she can get arrested and thrown in jail, or in other countries still, the husband can get thrown in jail!
Difficult to understand but no right or wrong, just different)

You’re talking about this online store, right? https://www.disantomusica.it/

Check out the cheap electronics goods they have too.
I think that with the things they’re selling, they can’t afford the time to talk to you.
