    I was part of the Octave section, it was a lot of fun.

    Fabio inspired us to play "musically" rather than struggle to get all the notes (which a few of us could not) in rapid 16th runs. He provided carefully worked reduced parts for those of us who found one of the pieces a bit beyond our skill level. Besides being a master player and teacher, he was a lovable character as well.
    He recorded a mock-serious plea for my wife to but me a liuto cantabile. It must have been very amusing because she is still laughing. (And yeah, ...no liuto.)
