I haven't posted all that much for awhile but I'm starting to make a dent in my backlog so I thought I'd post some photos of whats going on in the shop just to let everyone know I'm still around.

I saw the video on painting the Sherman Tank. That is talent. Need to do a Flying V in Air Force colors.
Lovely children. You certainly have your hands full. More than double the number of instruments in the works than I'd ever be comfortable with. I wouldn't be able to sleep with all of the issues being juggled at once.
Cool Mandolins!
current joys:
Gibson F-5G | Northfield A5 Special | Kentucky KM-150 | Mid-Mo M-70 Octave | Martin HD-28V | Gold Tone BC-350 | 5-string Mandoblaster | Les Paul | Strat | Piano | Bongos | Tacoma Thunderchief | old Dobro | Some amps & microphones
Yep if Jerry Garcia played e-mando those would be it!
I used to do about the same. Necks first and then a lot of evil creations and experiments. I'm primarily an electric guitar maker and I became bored with bolt-on necks. I discovered mandolin instruments about three years ago and its a nice niche where I'm not building exactly the same thing as everyone else. I just need to get serious and put in full work days. I've finished a prototype recently that I really like and just need to get off my tail and build. I posted my recent build in the builders section and think maybe I should have put it in the one.
Hey Andrew,
Tell us about the yellow one.
I like yellow emandos and yellow strats. I have no idea why.
Daniel
That is the prototype for my E series. It will be going to Martin at Emando.com. If you want one then you will need to order through him. It will have the E from his webpage on the pickguard. I'm not sure how many strings its going to be yet. I've had it in the works for a bit but it keeps getting pushed to the end of the line. I'm wrapping up four instruments this week, so that goes to the forefront next week.
This is only the second or third that I have done in color. Still a learning curve to spray it for a guy that normally just does clear coats. Body is poplar and the neck will be maple. All chrome hardware, black pickguard with an Almuse humbucker. At least, that's the plan so far. I'll post some more photos of it later today.
Hmmm.......Clive approaches the electric mandolin subject with a certain degree of enthusiasm ;
