    Default "Daughters" by John Mayer

Sitting in with a guitarist/singer next week and the bridge section of this tune is giving me a little trouble (compounded by the fact that I have 8 other tunes to get down and no time to practice).

Has any one played this tune, maybe even as a duo?

And yes, I have seen this: https://mandotabs.com/j/john-mayer/daughters/

It's a decent guide, but the bridge harmony is very dense to my ears.

Maybe just a descending single note line behind guitar chords?

here's the chords to the bridge, they all have a d note in them except A7 when he sings the word "much" (C#), that's the easiest

    Am/D Gm/D D D
    DM7 A7 Bm7add11 Bm7add11
    Em9 Em9 D/F# D/F#
    D11 D11 D2/A D2/A D2/A D2/A

next you could try these notes lasting 3 beats each ( first 2 lines down the scale, next 2 up the scale )

    a g f# f#
    e e d d
    g g a a
    c c d e f# g

BTW experiment with x750 x650 x550 for the rest of the song

Gig was last night and "Daughters" went very well. The three motifs (guitar intro, short guitar break and short piano break) are very mandolin friendly.

For the bridge, I played the first chord of each phrase in unison and then some harmonics to chime over the "D2/A". Nice and uncluttered.
