Default The Grateful Dead St. Stephen Mandolin Lesson

    Hey folks,

Here is a tutorial for the beautiful introduction to St. Stephen by the the Grateful Dead. I've always loved this melody.

I use a closed position because I think it captures the feel of the original but if you don't want a pinky workout you can easily substitute the E and A notes on the 7th fret with open strings.

    best,

    I merged these two threads.

Part two based off of the E mixolydian scale in closed position.
