    Default Flatiron 3MW Mandola Ser.# 9205401

My wife inherited a Flatiron Model 3MW Mandola Serial #9205401 from her dad.
We are trying to find out how old it is and if it has any value. I am a novice violinist, but do not have enough musical talent to try to play another instrument.

    Nay help would be appreciated.

According to several Cafe threads, the first two digits of the serial number represent the year it was made, so yours would be a 1992.

It has decent value; Flatiron "pancake" mandolas show up with asking prices from around $700 to as high as $1.1K. You could list it in the Cafe classifieds, where it would probably draw some interest.

    Allen,
Thanks a lot, that was a pleasant surprise. We appreciate your help. My wife will decide in a couple of months on what she wants to do.

    Thanks,
