Price seems a bit high for a neck, pickguard & some braces.
What the heck happened to it?
Oh, wait, it includes a case....
I love that ad. It's Missing a "Fly United" banner.
For posterity:
"It's comparable to playing a cheese slicer."

The top has cracks. It's more like the cracks have part of a top.

1. Almost $1,200 (with shipping)? I would probably pass on this if I saw it at a flea market for $300 - unless I really wanted the case. It MIGHT be interesting if it was an actual vintage Hummingbird, but not a 1997 reissue?
2. They took this thing 'in on trade'? How much did they give on 'trade' for this thing? Did they give $500 in trade and are now trying to flip it at twice the price? Again, outside of the case - I can't imagine walking into any music store with this pile of scraps and getting too much more than $300 for it.
3. The description says 'Top has cracks.' Saying the top has 'cracks' is like saying that the Grand Canyon is just a big hole in the ground.
4. It also states that rebuilding it would a 'challenge'. Another vote for Understatement Of The Year. Why do I have visions of Charlie Derrington in my head?
5. There are 25 watchers on this thing?
Amazing.
Says back ok. The back is worse than the top. Man that's a hoot.

That's up there with the ultimate "definition of chutzpah". A man who murdered his parents asked the judge for leniency as he was now suddenly a poor orphan.
Well.
The case is in good shape!

Imagine what an intact Hummingbird would be worth!

"I see no reason why this bird cannot be reconstructed, though." [ad text]
Yeah, just replace the entire body, and hope the neck doesn't have a broken truss rod or a broken tenon.

It says Guaranteed against faulty workmanship and materials - wonder if the warranty is still valid?
Yeah that did say a jigsaw puzzle-I had the horror movie SAW coming to mind when I seen that one-and its only a 97-if it was a 37 or 47 maybe it would be KOOL!
Now marked "sold," so I guess someone wanted it...

The auction for the whole guitar is over (unsold AFAIK) but the seller has the neck only for sale.

Reminds me of the guy who listed Norman Blake's 12-fret D-28 for $3 million bucks (or whatever he wanted for it). It was outrageous, but it only takes one buyer to make a sale. (Not that he sold it, as far as I know.)
but it has the road worn look that makes the player seem to have been there done that. you'd have such cool
The backstory - it was accidentally sat on by Keith Richards, hence the mojo value.
