Price seems a bit high for a neck, pickguard & some braces.

What the heck happened to it?

Oh, wait, it includes a case....

The top has cracks. It's more like the cracks have part of a top.

    1. Almost $1,200 (with shipping)? I would probably pass on this if I saw it at a flea market for $300 - unless I really wanted the case. It MIGHT be interesting if it was an actual vintage Hummingbird, but not a 1997 reissue?

    2. They took this thing 'in on trade'? How much did they give on 'trade' for this thing? Did they give $500 in trade and are now trying to flip it at twice the price? Again, outside of the case - I can't imagine walking into any music store with this pile of scraps and getting too much more than $300 for it.

    3. The description says 'Top has cracks.' Saying the top has 'cracks' is like saying that the Grand Canyon is just a big hole in the ground.

    4. It also states that rebuilding it would a 'challenge'. Another vote for Understatement Of The Year. Why do I have visions of Charlie Derrington in my head?

    5. There are 25 watchers on this thing?

    Amazing.

That's up there with the ultimate "definition of chutzpah". A man who murdered his parents asked the judge for leniency as he was now suddenly a poor orphan.

I think people that are watching might want the neck? But not at that price. The case, neck, tuners and bridge might be worth $500 max?

"I see no reason why this bird cannot be reconstructed, though." [ad text]

Yeah, just replace the entire body, and hope the neck doesn't have a broken truss rod or a broken tenon.

The seller now has the neck only for £750 (about $923USD). Wishful thinking at the least.

It says Guaranteed against faulty workmanship and materials - wonder if the warranty is still valid?

The auction for the whole guitar is over (unsold AFAIK) but the seller has the neck only for sale.

Reminds me of the guy who listed Norman Blake's 12-fret D-28 for $3 million bucks (or whatever he wanted for it). It was outrageous, but it only takes one buyer to make a sale. (Not that he sold it, as far as I know.)

Did somebody buy the front, back, sides, pickguard and case and leave the neck, or did the seller realize that he was dreaming when he thought he was going to get $1,100 for firewood? I'd might have given him $100 for the case . . . .

The backstory - it was accidentally sat on by Keith Richards, hence the mojo value.

Maybe, if you claim that Pete Townshend is the one who smashed it.
