Default Georgia by Ray Charles For Tenor Guitar

Ricardo Colubi's video 'Georgia' got me inspired to transcribe for players
who want to play it. Though his version is using GCDA tuning, I've made a video using
GDAE tuning for mandolin players as well.

Great video, there must be a story behind your guitar?

Whatever the story, it certainly sounds like a 'Happily ever after Ending'.

Thanks! I don't know how I overlooked the mistake in the title.

Thanks Harley! Not much of a story...I bought it for a student who switched to bass and I decided to keep it around a few years ago.
Then a mandolin student materialized and I used it as a way to write out his lessons...we covered a lot of Sierra Hull demos at the time.
Now I'm seeing some possibilities in the way of Tenor Guitars and I'm happy to see that there is a need to come up with
more material for its growing popularity. Transcribing existing music from players on youtube seems to be a good idea
but I will be writing more lessons to expand its repertoire soon. Happy ending!

Thanks Roland, great job on the video I hope to see more..... it looks like your guitar is a full size 6 string with two strings removed?

It's a mini guitar...60 cm from the nut to the bridge. A student sold me his mini guitar, so now I have 2 with identical scale lengths.
The one in the video is strung with light gauge nickel-plated strings .036 .026 .017 .011 and my other one is tuned a whole tone higher with
light gauge phosphor bronze strings which has a lot more resonance and kick in the overtones.( I removed the pegs at the top on this one )
    Thanks for asking!

If you like Ricardo Colubi's arrangement, try his take on a Harold Arlen tune

Thanks again fox! Here are some more that are ideal for the tenor guitar. I've included links to Sierra Hull's videos:
Arkansas Traveler, Tennessee Waltz, Blackberry Blossom, St. Anne's Reel, Lonesome Fiddler Blues and a blues tune.

Another great video Roland, this is not a very busy section of the forum but I am sure other folk also appreciate and enjoyed your effort.
My only other (lighthearted) comment is .. as a tenor guitar builder, I find it slightly disturbing that such a skilful player doesn’t actually own a tenor guitar!

haha! Thanks fox. I actually have only one mandolin student but I have enjoyed my
time with the tuning and transcribing some of the music. It's time for me to dive back
into the classical guitar repertoire...thank you again for your encouraging words!
