    Default Looking for contacts on vintage Zither ?

    Looking for contact of someone w expertise on vintage Zithers. I have an 1870 handmade Zither by Franz Schwarzer of Washington, Missouri. Looking for buy bids and need general appraisal. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks you.

    Take a look at the Zither Links on Bob Buzas' Ukelin Site. They are a little ways down the page under Other Hybrid Instruments. You should be able to find some knowledgeable Zither folks at one of those sites.

    Then again I'd probably go here first.

    I'd go to the ZitherUS website and start from there. They have a lengthy article about Schwarzer, whom the call "the king of US zither makers," and a forum as well, where you can post your question before a more knowledgeable audience than us mandolin types.

    Later: I see I'm duplicating Mike E's second suggested link. Great minds thinking alike...?

    Old thread on zithers here from 2013.

    Ken Bloom is an expert on many oddball instruments including concert zither which, I assume, is what you have. You can reach him via email on his bowed dulcimer site.
