Used J74's for years but got turned on to Elixir nano-web and love them. They sound great and last longer than any strings I have tried. No financial interest here.

I see DAddarios on all my instruments. Helicores on the doghouse and fiddles. J74 on mandolins, EJ17 on my dreads, EJ16 on the OHms.

In the '70s during the pro-playing years of my life I was changing strings every week & "tried em all" (that is the ones that existed back then). I settled on DAddarios as they were the only one's that actually maintained decent tone, sustain, and the tensile strength to stay in tune under my heavy hand for a whole week. It's kinda like Fords & Chevys though, "grandpa had a lemon" so the whole family hated Fords!!

I guess the guy who started the thread was just "stringing' us along?" Sorry I got tangled up in the "winding of these tales!"
