Hmmm....klusons always seemed to work great for old teles and strats................

Paul Hostetter figured that if they didn't work well they were probably bad from the get go. He assumed that the tooling was worn at the end of the run. That and the crumbling buttons. If you look at how they were built you can see it's pretty amazing they worked at all. I have Kluson's on my Telecaster. It's like a nod to tradition. Who knew there were no screws used other than the ones that held them to the headstock?
Other people have made replacements in the guitar world for years. I never saw the mandolin models until they showed up on the WD website a few years ago.

Klusons get a bad wrap from a lot of guitarists. I’ve never had a problem with them. I think the bad feelings come from Gibson guitars and their 3 x 3 headstock configuration and a slightly less than perfect nut slot creates tuning instability problems on the D and G strings with players blaming the tuners.
