    Default Eastman Comfort Comfort

I'm noticing that some of the Eastman models now have a "comfort contour". But I can't find an actual explanation, either on their site or from any of the retailers. Based on pictures, it looks like the front edge is unbound, and rounded a bit more. Is that all this is? Considering it's a bit more expensive, I was expecting something more.

    Thanks,
    CD

As I understand it itís just a lack of binding with the edge beveled smooth, seemed to me like something taken from/inspired by Weberís Gallatin series...

I have comfort contoured the sharp edged binding of a mandolin or two using a single edge razor blade.

I have no reason to contour the edge, but I have rounded the corners of the bridge on almost every instrument I have. If you lightly touch the bridge with your palm, the sharp corners that come on most bridges are really abrasive.

I don't know much about the new Eastman feature but I, too, have contoured several bridge tops.

Okay, thanks. The bridge contouring is a really good idea that I never would have though of.

Never seen the Eastman comfort edge, but I have a Washburn GS Mini Koa guitar that has the comfort feature. Here is a shot of it from their website. I like it!

I'm curious about the varnish finish they're offering on the 5 series. Has anybody tried one of those? Impressions?
Being right is overrated. Doing right is what matters.
