    Post New Weber Mandolin

Arrived today, number 3 of 5, 20th anniversary Weber Yellowstone mandolin purchased from Down Home Guitars. A beautiful instrument with a lovely, wonderful, resonant tone, and it is not even played in. It will only sound better as I play it. I did not know how awesome a mandolin could sound until I played this mandolin today. I have a The Loar 590 and it sounds very good but nowhere near the tone of this Weber Yellowstone mandolin. Pictures and video soon. Peace, Love, Blessing to all.

Congrats! I wish I had gotten down there to play that one while they had it. Down Home are good people and have a beautiful store. They are also the prime movers behind the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, which is a great time if you're in Illinois in mid-July!

You will never make a qualitative jump like that again. You may someday prefer a different tone or neck, but you'll be choosing amount equal but different moe than dramatically better. That is a very good thing.
