Thread: Rick Stone mandolins

    Default Rick Stone mandolins

A custom-made Rick Stone A style mandolin showed up at a local pawn shop in town. I see that he was a luthier in Western North Carolina who made a variety of instruments. I can't find much specific information on his mandolins or what anybody thinks of them on this site with a search.

Anybody have any experience with Rick Stone mandolins? What is your impression of them? Any thoughts about value?

Really only one mention but it was by a Cafe regular. It appears he has passed on but there are a few articles about him out on the web. This one stood out.
"Bargain instruments are no bargains if you can't play them". These are the words of J. Garber.
