Thread: Case for Gibson Oval

    Default Case for Gibson Oval

    I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a '17 Gibson A-1. Bummer is that the original case is no longer with it. Looking at cases that it will fit in and came across this Superior Fiberglass Case;
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...DF08XA1CK&th=1

    I would like to get a case that will help with protection when traveling but also not too expensive and not extra heavy.
    Sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it with a search.

    Thanks in Advance for any advice,
    Steve

    I have a generic tweed F5 case that my 1919 fits in just fine. The extra space for the scroll is a nice place to put a strap, tuner, etc.

    The Road Runner ABS case works. Use one for my 1929 A Jr. (with a Tone Gard). https://www.guitarcenter.com/Road-Ru...ndolin-Case.gc

    Love the Fiberglass Eastman case. the current ones fit F4 & F5 and so take A4 & A5 as well ..

    Rubber gasket edges keep it dry inside in the rain, and D rings let you wear it like a backpack..

    I pulled the trigger! thought to get the Guardian for now but afterwards a Fiberglass version. The current owner may need to move the neck block to suit and that should bE easier on the Guardian..
    Thanks to those who have helped!

    I have both my newer luthier-made Gibson copy and my 23 A2 snakehead in a TKL archedtop case. Good solid case, the mandolins both fit nicely and it does the job of protecting. Much better than the original Gibson case BTW.

    Reviving thread -- Superior Case no longer available on eBay. I'm trying to find a good case for a 'teens Gibson A-Style oval, as well. Does the Gator Journeyman fit, does anyone know? Other suggestions? Thanks.

    I bought a Crossrock mandolin case from Amazon for my 1924 Gibson Snakehead A Junior. Great case at a great price!
