not much info on this ebay listing,while looking a Rover RM 75 transparent amber came up.Anyone ever play one of these(the Rover)?

I've never played one, but it looks nicer than most of the Rovers I see. The specs sound good, too......solid top, back and sides, bone nut, etc....cool "Monty" style peghead!

I guess the comparison would be how it stacks up against a Kentucky, The Loar or Eastman in that price range ($499) I believe The Loar offers an F style in that price range, not sure about the others.....

If you look at the truss rod cover, it says "Owchar." Punch Owchar and mandolin into Google and you get this ad on Reverb:

Apparently, Al Owchar (misspelled in the Reverb ad but NOT on the instrument for sale), makes Monteleone-inspired mandos in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you punch "al owchar" and calgary into Google, you find all kinds of things about Mr. Owchar, his music and his instrments.

Im up here in Calgary where Al Owchar is apparently based. Never heard of him. Nice to try to build a example but it would be nicer to make it nicer .

The above links are NOT the Rover mandolin being discussed, FWIW. The "Owchar" looks very nice, but is not $499........
