I will be there. Don G, I look forward to meeting you. We may know some folks in common. Your video was terrific.
Looking forward to meeting you too, Andy. I think I've seen your name on some LM transcriptions back in the tape lesson days. Russ, Geoff, looking forward to picking with you too. Shaun, we'll pick Heidens one of these years.

Last night's instructor concert at the Station Inn couldn't have been better. Ricky Skaggs took the stage for the 1st set taking center stage a few times but also backing up a carousel of others. (Mike Compton, Todd Phillips, Charlie Cushman, even two of the youth scholarship winners) Lord, I just love this camp!
Fabulous camp! I plan on going every year. So much fun and lots of great people. Really enjoyed David Davis's classes, and Compton's and really every one I went to. Fine jams every night. Luthier presentation by Paul Duff, Will Kimble and Randy Wood. I walked out of a jam into the lobby and found Caleb Klauder and Mike Compton playing old tunes. I sat down and listened for a long time. Things like that happened every day. An amazing experience--highly recommended.

Had such a great time. It was great meeting everyone in person. I'm looking forward to next year!
Awesome camp. Some of the important stuff I took home was “food for thought”, as opposed to just tunes and licks. It seemed I ended up in lots of fun jams with Don and with Rich from Seattle. It was great to make new mando friends as well as seeing old ones. Lots of great mandolins too—Gil , Duff, Kimble, Heiden, Gibson, Buckeye, Miller, Sullivan, Wood—just lots of different and pleasing voices! Will Kimble did some wonderful tweaking on my mandolin.

I called and spoke with Randy Wood a few days ago and he said he was there checking everything out, That would've been a great bit of fun-did they do any building techniques or such?
I envy the folks that were at camp.
My wife & I were able to attend the pre-camp concert. The first set especially was truly electrifying with Ricky in the mix.
It was a real treat (and the reason I flew down) to see Mike playing Monroe-style music. He was great, and it was cool to see the other folks doing their best Bill Monroe licks too. I have a couple of videos I can share (Rawhide and Mothers Only Sleeping), but not sure if Mike is okay with sharing video? If it's okay I can post them here.
While we were in town we also got a chance to see Marty Stuart at the CMF with Roger McGuinn, Jim Lauderdale, and others. Marty and the Superlatives were awesome, and seeing Marty play Clarence's tele with some of the Byrds was a real treat. We also checked out Carter Vintage, Gruhns, and Fanny's Music in East Nashville. Nashville is an amazing place!
End of hijack...maybe we can hit the camp in a different year?
Larry
PS: The Stevens 5-string at Carters is an awesome axe.

Thank you to Mike and Heidi for all their hard work and heart in making this such a special event and community.
