Developing techniques with Mazas: Etude Op.36 No.12

Spent wonderful hours with J.F. Mazas etudes developing techniques. In my opinion many of these pieces sound much better on mandolin than played on violin.

Very nice and with fingers...I worked a little on Bach Cello Suite No.1 last night, at about measure 7 it dawned on me that I had greatly exceeded my musical knowledge.

Cello Suites are great! I play first three of them (about a hour of pure pleasure). They are little easier than Sonatas and Partitas for violin.

Thanks a lot, Toomas -- sounds great! I've tried fingerpicking the mandolin in the past but never got very satisfactory results.

Thank you! Mazas is full of possibilities. And also for fingerpicking. Fingers of the right hand move better when palm is higher and longer fingernails will help to balance the difference of sound between pick and fingers.
