    Default Prettiest Peghead Inlays Ever

I had to point out the beauty of the peg head on this mandolin being listed on the MC Classifieds -- Incredible!

I've done some pretty ridiculously complicated peghead inlays. And some simple ones, too.
But this is the my favorite mandolin peghead inlay ever, kudos to Tom and the gang.

I've seen some beautiful inlays, and I think my favorite is the rose on Doyle Dykes' signature Taylor. I also really like the Rose and Bluebonnet inlays available on Pava mandolins

I knew Ray Alden but did not know that his dragon design was on an F4. A great combination of a Fairbanks flowerpot peghead inlay and a Bacon Chubby Dragon. Ray's dragon has been working out.

    I love it!

For posterity, here is Ray's design on an Old Wave -

I like Will Kimble's take on deco-style inlays. Classy, unique, eye catching.

There's such a great range of inlays I've seen on mandolin headstocks. I think it's almost impossible to call anything inlaid on the F style headstock (already a thing of ostentatious design) over the top. I like them from just a tasteful script to the audacious cacophony that is the Butch Baldassari's white Gibson F5

I really enjoy a good torch and wire headstock but that's about as far as I would go.

The Schmergel Devastator has hands down the most blindingly beautiful headstock inlay. Itís simply too brilliant to post photos without risk of retinal damage.

If anyone is interested in learning how to do inlay Dave Nichols at Custom Pearl Inlay in Malone, NY has classes on pearl cutting and inlay. I've never taken that class but a trip to Dave's shop is without a doubt an experience one should have sometime in their lifetime.

He's also a mandolin builder and player.
