M Great Blue Heron custom Club Jazz headstock inlay, by Mr. Apitius. (art provided by me…
This, to me, is absolutely beautiful; very much to my taste. I have to admit, the torch and wire-type aesthetic never did appeal much to me. It's not that I dislike it, more that it just doesn't draw me in. I know, that is a nearly heritical statement and demonstrate some deeper character flaw, but there we are. I admit to my sin.

The beauty shown here in both in headstock shape and inlay, really does it for me. I really don't suffer much from MAS these days but if I did, Mr. Apitius's work would be at the top of my list. In particular, his Club Jazz mandolins have real appeal for me. One never knows what the future may hold.

Those Torch and Wire's with Handel type buttons are very hard to beat! Serious class from the mandolin boom from over 100 years ago!

I’ll have to agree with the Apitius comments (nice work, Oliver!!) Naturally, I’m partial to the Apitius Vine that Oliver did for me. Best mandolin I’ve ever played (and I just spent two days at Carter Vintage, so that should tell you something).

That's a classic. Reminds me of the song "Breakfast in Hell" by Slaid Cleaves.

I'm quite partial to the inlay on my instrument...a little biased I guess but it's certainly unique! Here's a picture from the mandolin archive Click image for larger version.

Eh, for $199, it's pretty in its own way.
