Default Lloyd Loar Hometown Music Festival in Illinois

This is an interesting one. Lloyd Loar attended high school in Lewistown, IL. This was picked up on a few years ago by some local folks, and they started a small music festival in his honor. A local museum has picked up the festival as a local celebration of mandolin and music.

Not sure there will be any of the famous 1920's Gibson mandolins in attendance, but there will be some good shows and parking lot picking.

Of note to mandolinists, Solly Burton and I will be performing. Solly is a 3-time National Mandolin Champion.

Thought this might be of interest to folks in the midwest.

    That is pretty cool Andy.

I attended a folk/bluegrass music festival at the museum there around 10 years ago. They had Robin and Linda Williams as headliners. Jimmy Gaudreau was still playing with them then, And Don Stiernberg was there. That was the first time I had seen or heard of him. I was blown away. I never heard about a second year on that festival. It is a neat venue.
