Default Live Jazz -- Tom Wright Quartet

This was the opening number when we played at the Epicure Cafe, Fairfax, VA. "Pontapé" is by Jovino Santos Neto, who played it at Centrum this spring for the choro workshop. The name translates as "kick"

I'm using my 10-string electric. Jon Ozment on keys, Scott Giambusso on bass. Leland Nakamura on drums.

Nice work Tom. I love latin. I've dedicated most of the past few years to accordions - not least for brazilian, colombian... it gets me out jamming and looking for percussionists. It's about my last connection to jazz, without guitar, plucky things..

    Your mndln sounds great!

Thanks, all. Here's the next tune we played, title cut from the CD, my tune "Tailwind".

Sounds great, Tom - thanks for sharing!
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.
