    Question Weber Bridger - Discontinued?

Hi, does anyone know why Weber discontinued the Bridger line of mandolins?

I have a Weber Bridger that is unlike any I've ever seen, it's the desert dawn color, in satin, oval hole, with the Weber arm rest tailpiece. Anyway, it's a fantastic instrument, obviously not for bluegrass. It was made in Montana back when it was Sound to Earth.

Anyone have a Bridger like mine? Thanks!

I think that mandolins are discontinued mainly as business decisions. Either lack of sales, slim profit margins, or streamlining operations can be reasons. I just talked to a long time Weber dealer. The current owners discontinued a lot of Weber models. I'm sure it's easier to operate with fewer models.

But I was not happy when Martin discontinued the M 36 for a time, but I still had and enjoyed mine.

Don't know, but I think the Bridger octaves are awesome!

Oh that's right, they still sell the octave version, right?

I don't think so. I think their only current models are the Gallatin, the bitterroot, the Yellowstone, and maybe the fern? I'm missing one I think. But I'm pretty sure most of the sound to earth models have been replaced or discontinued. I think the bridger octave is what Sierra plays, which is why I know of it

I just checked the website, the one I missed was the heritage series, which includes the Fern, the vintage, and the Diamondback. I think the closest option they have to a bridger now would be a bitterroot A14 with oval hole.

I believe the Bridger was discontinued several years ago but one does pop up for sale every now and then. Wish I owned one - hold on to yours!

That Bridger F with the D sound hole sure was gorgeous and a mandolin who's design I lusted after for years early on. TOH may not make it but maybe Bruce would out of his new shop?

For sure! I can't imagine ever selling it.
