Any of you oval hole players tried these ? Opinions ? I have tried D'Addario Monels and not impressed at all . Not bad at first but quickly went South !

I have these on my Collings MT2-O and like it, they seem to last well. The overall sound with my MT2-O and monels is a bit of a hybrid/modern sound (I am not exactly going for the traditional oval sound).
I also use them on my F hole MT2, and really like them on there. They seem to get me about twice the life compared to J74s
I should be pickin' rather than postin'
Would it be a fair comparison against DAD Nickel Bronze?
I just tried out D'Addario NB on my "5" ….. nice strings, very bright at first but settled in and are lasting well. I will be putting on a set of CM Monel alloy next. R/
I love hanging out with mandolin nerds . . . . . Thanks peeps ...
I currently have them on both my Black archtop and my Poe flattop. I like monels, as in addition to longer life on the wound strings they also emphasize the fundamental with warmth at the expense of overtones and sparkle. They are certainly worth the cost of the experiment regardless of the outcome.

Try the GHS pure nickel, sound nice and last a very long time. I have them on several of my mandolins. Not every string is for everyone, but if you are experimenting with monel and nickel bronze I would add them to the list to try.

Thanks for all your opinions/suggestions !
