Default Phillips Grier and Flinner in Galway NY

Caught Todd Phillips, David Grier and Matt Flinner last night at the Cock and Bull Restaurant in Galway NY ( near Saratoga), great show!
They hadn't practiced for this show and actually hadn't played as a trio in several years, didn't miss a beat! The did a lot of stuff off of David's new album, some Classic PGF a bunch of Monroe tunes, David sang a few and Matt even sang one!
The even jammed on Salt Creek which was surprisingly refreshing!

They are playing in Hamden CT tonight 8/16 and at the Manchester VT Bluegrass festival This weekend. If you are close to either of these don't miss the opportunity to catch these masters in formation!

Nice to see this triumvirate once again out and about. Matt will be at Camp Bibey next week, I've never had the pleasure of learning from him. Should be great.

Love PGF, glad to see they are playing again. I still regret not seeing them back in 2002 (I think it was) at the Culver City (Boulevard Music) Festival. Not like "one of my biggest regrets in life" type regret, but still... I've seen Matt (crowd of about 50 at Boulevard Music), but but not PGF.
